Saving Philosophy Collection
Posted by Jack under Uncategorized
Part of what has prompted me to begin writing in this blog has been the unfortunate occurrence of being laid off from my job. While I am working on finding my next job, I wanted something to do that was meaningful to me and which would help me focus on what needs to be done.
One of the things that needed to be done was ensure that my finances are taken care of until I am re-employed meaningfully. I have done that, and am not going to be in any financial strain for some time. However, the sooner my job hunt is successful, the easier it will be to get back to where I was before.
Part of what I have done is spend some time seriously thinking about what money means to me, how I handle it, and how that fits into the rest of my life. This thinking has led me into formulating a set of Savings Philosophies. These philosophies really do not have much to do directly with saving and spending money. Rather, they help describe a mindset that encourages saving instead of spending and a focus on what money does for us rather than on the race to get more and more money.
I hope these thoughts are clearer than that last paragraph. Feel free to read through the posts linked below. As I articulate more of the Philosophies, they will also be linked in to this page in an effort to give you a one-stop location to find all of them.
