The SMART goals that we set should address both categories (how we will earn our income - aka Professional Life - and how we will spend it - aka Financial Life). SMART goals are the most effective way of setting goals because (1) it is easy to see what you are striving for and (2) you definitely know if you have made the goal or not. Would you guess that people don't read it because it is something imposed on them for the goal program? Or is it for some other reason? That’s unfortunate.
