This is a quick update.  I’ve been hit with identity theft for a second time.  Fortunately, this one was much less painful than the first time.  In this case, somebody used my credit card number to pay their bills.  I don’t think there will be any problems getting this cleared up, but it eliminates my use of one of my accounts while I wait for a replacement account to be setup and the new card to arrive for use.

The good news is that I caught the use quickly.  It was only 2 days after the first charge posted before I detected the fraud and called my bank.  That is because I monitor my accounts on a frequent basis. Generally, I log in online and look at all of my accounts at least once every 2 weeks.  It only takes a few minutes (another reason to consolidate to fewer accounts if you have a bunch) and gives me a lot of peace of mind and has helped me save time and money overall.
